Pfizer Inc. to Buy Back Akrimax Pharmaceuticals Plant and Sell or Close it by 2013; 60 Workers to Lose Jobs

A pharmaceutical plant in northern New York is changing hands again and more people are losing their jobs. Three years after buying the Rouses Point plant from Wyeth, Akrimax has decided to pull out and sell the facility to Pfizer, the company that bought out Wyeth. Sixty people will lose their jobs when Akrimax departs. Pfizer says it plans to keep the plant operating for another two years with about 300 employees.
