Staff at a key regulatory agency will recommend approval of the first phase and overall layout for water management at the planned home of a state- and county-created biotech research community. The recommendation is one of several moves Palm Beach County has made toward obtaining the slew of permits it needs to begin building Scripps Florida and a related biotech park. The South Florida Water Management District said in a draft report sent to Palm Beach County this week that the project looks good. District staff found no major issues and said the county’s plan to alleviate potential harm to wetlands from the project is appropriate.
