Velez has over 20 years of experience in developing and executing human resource strategies to support the growth of dynamic businesses, most recently with OptumCare. Her work across a broad spectrum of industries and companies includes leading distributed workforces, establishing organizational culture and performance, change management, team development and talent management.

A native of Hawaii, Velez earned a BS in Applied Management from Azusa Pacific University and an MA in Industrial/Organization Psychology from the University of Colorado, Denver. She has resided in the Denver area since 2000.
