SACRAMENTO, Calif.) -- Plant cholesterols known as sterols -- recognized for their cholesterol-lowering power when added to margarines, salad dressings and other fats -- also have been found to be effective in reducing low-density lipoprotein, or “bad” cholesterol” levels, when added to orange juice.
