Opexa Therapeutics Provides Key Quality of Life Data on Tovaxin(R) for Multiple Sclerosis

THE WOODLANDS, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Opexa Therapeutics, Inc. (NASDAQ:OPXA), a company dedicated to the development of patient-specific cellular therapies for the treatment of autoimmune diseases such as multiple sclerosis (MS) and diabetes, today announced an update on the continuing analysis of the company’s Phase IIb TERMS clinical trial (Tovaxin® for Early Relapsing Multiple Sclerosis) for the treatment of MS. An analysis of the MS Quality of Life Inventory Data (MSQLI) from the 150 patient study has shown that in the complete modified intent to treat (mITT) population (n=142), patients treated with Tovaxin demonstrated a statistically significant improvement in the Impact of Visual Impairment Scale scores (p=0.028) compared to those on placebo. This improvement was observed within six months of completing the full course of treatment.
