The opening represents the only outpatient program specializing in the treatment of anorexia, bulimia, binge-eating, avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder (ARFID), and co-occurring conditions such as anxiety, mood disorders, trauma, substance use, and self-harm. Discovery South Bay Los Angeles offers partial hospitalization or day treatment and intensive outpatient programming for adolescents and adults, males and females, local to the Redondo Beach, Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach, Palos Verdes, El Segundo, and Torrance areas.
The demand for eating disorder treatment services in the area has grown as the traffic volume has created a barrier to accessing the closest treatment options available in Los Angeles.
