(WAYNE, PA, June 25, 2008) — CEO & Chairman Jim Walker of Octagon Research Solutions, Inc., a pioneer and leading provider of breakthrough software and services to the life sciences industry, today announced their integration strategy for ViewPoint® Quantum, the next version of Octagon’s successful enterprise process management solution.
Octagon’s planned Document Management System (DMS) integration strategy is focused on connecting the industry’s most widely-used content repositories to the ViewPoint Quantum environment. These repositories frequently hold in-process documents, legacy documents and datasets that are eventually used to support an electronic regulatory submission. ViewPoint Quantum will initially integrate with the short list of familiar industry DMS systems, notably Open Text® Livelink and Microsoft® SharePoint. The existing integration with EMC® Documentum will continue to be supported and enhanced in ViewPoint Quantum.
The objective of the integration strategy is to provide flexibility in managing content-driven processes throughout an enterprise by:
• Streamlining global processes that are driven from multiple, content repositories
• Facilitating access to content from legacy document repositories
• Connecting content development processes to downstream submission processes

As ViewPoint manages these processes, the location of the document should be transparent to the user. ViewPoint itself has optional content management functionality that is being used to support authoring, review and approval processes for submission documents. This functionality complements the planned integration strategy by providing choice and flexibility to clients who purchase the ViewPoint Quantum platform. The platform can be used in combination with existing repositories or as a standalone content management system.
