New Sleep Apnea Implant Comes To SD, Alvarado Hospital Medical Center Reveals

Two local patients are among the first in the nation to receive a sleep apnea implant that provides a new way to treat a disease affecting millions of people and costing billions in lost productivity every year. The device offers a new option for possibly hundreds of thousands of patients who cannot tolerate wearing a special mask during sleep and have not had success restoring their rest through nasal or soft palate surgery.
