National Institutes of Health (NIH) Signs a Multi-Year Deal With Active Motif for AKS2 Software

CARLSBAD, CA and MADRID, SPAIN--(Marketwire - May 20, 2008) - Active Motif (Carlsbad, California) and Bioalma (Madrid, Spain) announced today that the Center for Information Technology (CIT) at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) has signed a multi-year deal to license AlmaKnowledgeServer 2 (AKS2) software, a knowledge discovery system based on unique text mining methodologies developed by Bioalma. CIT will use AKS2 to support an annotation platform for the human salivary proteome project. The project has the long-term goal of supporting the discovery of saliva-based diagnostic tests.
