Biological and physical studies on DNA structure have revealed considerable interest into the electronic properties of DNA. Part of this interest is in using DNA as the basis for forming minute nanowires for use in ultra small nanoelectronics. Molecular nanowires made from DNA can be a building block for the exceptionally small yet powerful computers of the future. An article released as part of the open access journal, AZoJono* takes us a step closer to understanding the electrical properties of DNA with the aim of producing nanoscale devices such as molecular wire.
