Micrus Endovascular Corporation Reports 32% First Quarter Revenue Growth

SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Micrus Endovascular Corporation (Nasdaq:MEND) today announced financial results for the three months ended June 30, 2007. Micrus reported record quarterly revenues for the first quarter of fiscal 2008 of $16.8 million, an increase of 32%, compared with revenues of $12.7 million for the first quarter of fiscal 2007. Higher revenues resulted primarily from an increase in sales of microcoil and non-embolic products. Revenues from the Americas grew 44% to $9.5 million and European revenues increased 57% to $5.9 million, both compared with the first quarter of fiscal 2007. Revenues from Asia Pacific were $1.4 million, and included sales of $1.1 million to the Company’s distributor in Japan, compared with revenues of $2.4 million for the comparable quarter in fiscal 2007, which included initial sales of $2.2 million to the Company’s distributor in Japan.
