Medtronic has been growing its staff in Doral, the home of its Latin American headquarters, as it attracts hundreds of visiting doctors a year.
The Minneapolis-based company (NYSE: MDT) is the largest stand-alone medical device maker, and its sales and training efforts in Latin America are supervised by the company’s Doral office. Over the last few years, the headcount there has increased to about 55 from 35, said Jim Hogan, president of Medtronic Latin America. Most of those jobs are at the director level, overseeing multiple countries, so they pay good salaries, he added.
