The recalled Medtronic Defibrillator Leads are electrical wires that connect the hearts of patients to the defibrillators implanted in their chests. The Medtronic Defibrillator Leads recall includes defibrillator leads used since September 2004. Fractures in the leads have been detected which may cause inappropriate shocks or result in a loss of therapy, which can lead to death.
