Medtech Executives To Gather For Industry Event

AusMedtech 2010 will next week attract more than 200 medical technology and devices executives in Sydney - the epicentre of the medtech industry - to discuss biotechnology’s fastest growing sector.

The third annual AusMedtech national conference again promises to be a worthwhile event, with a stimulating speaker program, including newly appointed Commercialisation Australia (CA) chief executive Doron Ben-Meir as the keynote speaker.

AusMedtech is Australia’s premier medical technology conference for medtech executives, providing business partnering opportunities for decision-makers and an investment summit. It brings together key stakeholders of the Australian and international medical devices and diagnostics sector, to discuss the major issues in global medtech success.

The majority of Australian medtech companies are located in New South Wales, making it the epicentre of medtech and a very fitting place to come together and learn from colleagues who share the challenges associated with this sector. The international speaker programme includes:

Dr Danielle Giroud, Founder, World Medical Device Organization, Switzerland

Dr Jiang Feng, Executive Chairman, China Medical Device Industry Association

Dr Jay Kunin, VP, Biomedical Track, San Diego Tech Coast Angels

Dr Peter Havel, Senior Vice President, Medical & Health Services, Global TÜV SÜD Product Service Barry Zakar, Principal, Intellimed Consulting, San Francisco

Alfred Huang, Senior Business Development Manager and Divisional Industry Network Leader for Health & Biotechnology, North East Asia, Austrade Taipei

The event will also feature optional complimentary master classes as well as in-vitro diagnostics sessions including developments in rapid point-of-care diagnostics, human factors engineering and the new TGA framework. Panel discussions will be held on the Health Technologies Assessment Review, ‘hot’ technologies for the 21st Century and war stories, plus sessions on commercialisation and attracting funding post-GFC.

This event has been organised in partnership with Industry & Investment NSW, with valuable support from our session and event partners and exhibitors. AusMedtech 2010 will be held in Sydney 1 - 2 June at the Hilton Hotel. Registrations are still available by visiting www.ausmedtech.com.au or calling Nicole Greenwell on +61 3 9828 1450.
