MOUNT LAUREL, N.J., Nov. 22, 2010 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- MedQuist Inc., (Nasdaq: MEDQ) a leading provider of integrated clinical documentation solutions for the U.S. healthcare industry today announced that Anthony D. James, the company’s current Co-Chief Operating Officer, has been named the Company’s Chief Financial Officer effective November 22, 2010. James will also continue to serve as the Company’s Co-Chief Operating Officer.
James served as the Chief Operating Officer for Spheris Inc., a global outsource provider of clinical documentation technology and services, from 2006 until April 2010, when MedQuist and its majority shareholder, CBay Inc., purchased substantially all of the assets of Spheris. Prior to that, James served as the Chief Financial Officer for Spheris from 2001 to 2006. James joined Spheris in November 1999 as the company’s Controller.
Prior to Spheris, James held a number of finance and accounting positions over a seven year tenure with Mariner Post-Acute Network. Additionally, he worked for two years in public accounting for Schoenauer, Musser & Co. James is a certified public accountant and received his B.A. in Accounting from the University of Northern Iowa.
Dominick Golio, who served as the Company’s Chief Financial Officer until James’ appointment, has decided to not relocate to Franklin, Tennessee where the Company finance group will be headquartered and has agreed to remain with the Company to assist with the transition of responsibilities to James, and thereafter pursue other business interests.
