MedPro Imaging Adds 4D Transducer Repair Capabilities

WAUKESHA, Wis., June 6, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Designed to counter a growing emphasis in the industry on probe exchange programs, MedPro Imaging’s Advanced Probe Repair Division today announced that it has added 4D transducer repair capabilities, featuring proprietary computer-based technology and processes for fast, consistent repairs. The only provider capable of offering advanced 4D transducer repairs, MedPro will perform 4D probe repair services at its dedicated state-of-the-art ultrasound transducer repair facility in Longmont, Colo.

“While there is no question that 4D probe technology is different, MedPro’s commitment to a repair-first model designed to help customers reduce their ultrasound lifecycle costs by keeping their own probes in service remains unchanged,” said Charles Jahnke, president and CEO of MedPro Imaging. “We have invested heavily in dedicated 4D repair technology, processes and component parts necessary to offer advanced 4D repairs, including electronic failures, motor position errors and lens cap replacements.

“Not only can this save customers 40 to 50 percent compared to replacement costs, it gives customers the ability to better manage and control their probes assets and ensures that they do not wind up with a replacement probe of unknown origin and quality,” Jahnke added.

The Company also announced that it has achieved certification from the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), meeting the requirements of the ISO 13485:2003 standard. ISO certification positions MedPro to provide probe repair services to all customer categories, including multi-vendor service providers, independent service organizations as well as hospitals and imaging centers that demand the cost saving associated with repairing probes instead of replacing them, while receiving the quality standard they have come to expect.
