Orloff, Executive Director, Regulatory Affairs, will speak at the next Drug Information Association (DIA) meeting in Washington, DC on September 23-24. The agenda for this meeting is “Cardiovascular Safety and Development of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus Medications: Current State of the Art and Opportunities to Advance the Science.” Dr. Orloff’s presentation September 23 will address “Alternate Clinical Study Approaches to a Cardiovascular Outcome Safety Study” as part of a session on novel clinical trial approaches.

Dr. David Orloff has been a regular presenter and commentator on current FDA Guidance on Diabetes and Cardiovascular risk assessment on an international level.

David Orloff, MD, is the Medpace Executive Director of Regulatory Affairs. He is the immediate past director of the Division of Metabolism and Endocrinology Products within the Center for Drug Evaluation and Research (CDER) of the FDA. Orloff is an endocrinologist and has 11 years of regulatory experience, with major foci in diabetes, obesity, and lipid metabolism. He has research experience in molecular and cellular biology and clinical endocrinology at the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) and the National Institute of Diabetes, Digestive, and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) of the National Institutes of Health (NIH). He was a consultant to the National Cholesterol Education Program, Adult Treatment Plan III, and is an advisor to multiple pharmaceutical companies working in the metabolism and diabetes fields.
