Medline Announces Agreement to Acquire Centurion Medical Products
- Addition of Vascular Access and Infection Prevention Products Manufacturer to Position Medline as Market Leader
NORTHFIELD, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Medline and Centurion Medical Products today announced an agreement for Medline to acquire the Williamston, Michigan-based medical supplies manufacturer in a transaction that will close later this year. Once the acquisition closes, Medline will have a full set of vascular access products that complement its minor procedure tray offerings and its growing infection prevention focus.
“Centurion is a great fit with Medline. Our distribution capabilities and access to additional customers and markets will further propel its success and bring more of its innovative solutions to healthcare providers,” said Jim Pigott, group president, Medline. “Our similar histories as family-owned companies focused on service and quality has us optimistic for a seamless transition for customers and partners.”
Medline is the largest family-owned manufacturer and distributor of high quality medical supplies and solutions with global operations and annual sales of more than $10 billion and more than 16,000 employees worldwide. At close, Centurion will continue to operate as a subsidiary of Medline, aligning closely with its Dynacor operations.
With five manufacturing facilities in Michigan, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Arizona and Mexico, Centurion is best known for SorbaView SHIELD® Securement Systems, Compass pressure monitoring technologies, ECO-EMEBAG and CVC Zone Bundles.
“Centurion’s strength has always been our eagerness to listen to customers and provide high performance products that improve patient care and caregiver efficiency,” said Tom Archipley, chief executive officer, Centurion Medical Products. “By joining forces with Medline, we have the opportunity to pair our unique products with their industry leading service model and scale. We are extremely excited to become a part of the Medline family.”
Medline anticipates the all-cash transaction to be finalized in early December.
