SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., Feb. 28, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) (PRIMEZONE) -- Medicis (NYSE:MRX) today announced revenue for the three months ended December 31, 2006 of approximately $99.1 million, compared to $80.7 million for the three months ended December 31, 2005. Net income computed in accordance with U.S. generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) for the three months ended December 31, 2006 was $17.9 million, or $0.27 per diluted share, compared to GAAP net income of $37.3 million, or $0.56 per diluted share for the three months ended December 31, 2005. Diluted per share amounts are calculated using the "if-converted" method of accounting in accordance with GAAP. FAS 123R share-based compensation expense was approximately $4.9 million for the three months ended December 31, 2006, or approximately $3.7 million after taxes, and approximately $0.05 per diluted share.
