A family-owned medical device manufacturer has moved from Connecticut and is moving to Lakewood Ranch this year.
ISPG specializes in high-grade medical devices and has been leasing a small space near the Sarasota Bradenton International Airport, according to the Bradenton Herald.
Company president James Fitzgibbons said the political climate and taxes in Connecticut made it impossible to do business. He plans to spend about $1.6 million on the expansion and double his 25-person work force in the next few years, according to the Herald.
ISPG had been in Connecticut for about 25 years with an annual revenue of almost $30 million.
