Mayo Clinic Researchers Study Islet Cell Autotransplantation to Improve Diabetes after Partial Pancreas Removal

ROCHESTER, Minn. -- Mayo Clinic’s initial experience with pancreatic islet autotransplantation in select patients undergoing partial pancreas removal has found that the procedure shows promise for reducing the effects of pancreatogenic diabetes. Study findings will be presented on May 22 at Digestive Disease Week 2007 in Washington, D.C.
