A Wayne medical device maker has agreed to hire outside inspectors as part of a settlement over safety standards with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
Maquet Cardiovascular LLC of Wayne, which is a subsidiary of Getinge AB, a group of Swedish health-care companies, had been accused of violating federal safety regulations.
Under the agreement, an affiliated company, Atrium Medical Corp. of Hudson, N.H., will shut down manufacturing until the FDA finds it has complied with regulations.
