Local Company a Finalist for Two Eco-Excellence Awards

Local skincare company, Lowen’s, has been named as a finalist in two categories for Eco-Excellence awards.

CALGARY, Alberta--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Local skincare company, Lowen’s, has been named as a finalist in two categories for Eco-Excellence awards.

Lowen’s has two products nominated for Eco-Excellence awards, in two different categories. The first, Shampoo is Betta, is nominated in the personal care category under Haircare for Dads. The second, Swamp Thing Clay Mask is nominated in the Wellness category under Eco-Care. The Eco-Excellence Awards celebrate and recognize products and companies that are devoted to social and environmental sustainability. Chad Zelensky, Founder and CEO of Lowen’s stated that, “this is an international competition held by Natural Child World Magazine so definitely on brand.” Lowen’s is committed to offering natural, healthy and safe products for not only adults but for kids as well. The company believes it has a stewardship to create both safe and effective products for a variety of ages and needs. By aligning with like-minded companies, Lowen’s believes that a common goal is shared and more can be done to further the mission. The awards are now to be decided by votes, and Lowen’s would really like to get their mission and story to the public in hopes of campaigning to win one or both of the Eco-Excellence awards. A local company can add so much depth to a community and Lowen’s is doing just that.

The feat of being a finalist for not only one, but two Eco-Excellence awards can not be overstated. In 2018, there were over 500 products that were reviewed for consideration to win such awards. Lowen’s products found themselves on top of a very large pile of nominees.

Lowen’s was founded in 2010 by Chad Zelensky, a pharmacist, after an unsuccessful search for a diaper rash product that did not adversely affect his daughter Lowen, the namesake of the company. Chad created a diaper rash balm that he thought other parents might be searching for as well. From that one product, Lowen’s was born and is now sold online and it many retail locations.
