LINCOLN, Neb., Feb. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- LI-COR Biosciences announces the introduction of a new line of infrared-labeled secondary antibody products. LI-COR now supplies four types of popular secondary antibodies including IRDye(R) 800CW Goat anti-Rabbit, IRDye 800CW Goat anti-Mouse, IRDye 680 Goat anti-Rabbit and IRDye 680 Goat anti-Mouse. Outperforming visible fluorescent dyes, IRDye infrared dyes on LI-COR imaging systems generate accurate quantitative data with very high sensitivity due to low background and excellent signal to noise ratio of the IRDye 680 and IRDye 800CW conjugates.
“We are pleased to have the opportunity to become a supplier of high quality infrared-dye labeled secondary antibodies. Our customers can have confidence in the quality of our infrared antibodies as they were designed and tested specifically for use with Odyssey(R) and Aerius(R) applications,” says Neeraj Asundi, LI-COR marketing product manager.
These IRDye-labeled antibodies are for use on LI-COR’s Odyssey Infrared Imaging System and the Aerius Automated Infrared Imaging System which are noted for setting new standards of highly accurate quantitation for protein related research applications including Western blots, In-Cell Western analysis, On-Cell Western analysis, protein arrays and many others.
Information and on-line ordering is available at www.licor.com/bio.
The Odyssey Infrared Imaging System is uniquely equipped with two infrared channels for direct fluorescence detection on membranes with sensitivity that is equal to or better than chemiluminescence. The superior signal-to-noise ratio produced using near infrared dyes produces results not possible with traditional fluorescence-based imaging systems. LI-COR infrared systems are noted for providing superior imaging for a growing list of applications including quantitative Western blots, In-Cell Western assays, EMSA’s, gel documentation and in vivo imaging.
The Aerius Automated Infrared Imaging System features automatic scanning, spot finding, intensity measurements and percent response calculations for quantitative In-Cell Westerns, the ability to scan up to 30 plates per run, and an internal bar code reader.
LI-COR Biosciences is a leader in the design, manufacture, and marketing of integrated instrument systems for plant biology, biotechnology, drug discovery, and environmental research. Founded in 1971, the privately held company is based in Lincoln, Nebraska, with subsidiaries in Germany and the United Kingdom. LI-COR systems are used in over 100 countries and are supported by a global network of offices and distributors.
IRDye 800CW is patented by LI-COR, US Patent No. 6,995,274 Issued February 7, 2006.
