SAN FRANCISCO, June 14, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Kindred Biosciences, Inc. (NASDAQ: KIN), a biopharmaceutical company focused on saving and improving the lives of pets, announced the initiation of a pilot field study designed to test several molecules, including anti-cytokine antibodies, in dogs with atopic dermatitis.
The pilot field study in dogs with atopic dermatitis is a multi-center pilot study to assess safety and efficacy of several molecules, and to determine the candidate(s) that will be taken into further development.
In addition, KindredBio provided an update on its equine biologics program. The first stage of a pilot field study in sick or septic foals to assess safety and efficacy of anti-TNF has been completed. Of the five foals enrolled, all survived to day 7, the primary endpoint of the study.
“We are very pleased to be making rapid progress in our biologics programs and we are excited about our burgeoning pipeline for atopic dermatitis. We are also encouraged by the 100% survival data in foals in a condition that can often result in 50% mortality,” said Richard Chin, M.D., President and Chief Executive Officer.
