Workers at a pharmaceutical factory in Co Cork have been summoned to a meeting with management this afternoon amid fears a review of production capacity at the plant could lead to job cuts. Staff at the Merck Sharpe Dohme (MSD) plant at Brinny, near Innishannon, have been fearful that the review, which has been ongoing for some time, may lead to a reduction in staff numbers at the factory, which employs 450 people. Management have invited workers to attend a meeting at the plant at 2pm today to brief them on the outcome of the review into the product mix at the plant that could impact on production volumes.
