Isis Pharmaceuticals, Inc. Drug Produces Dramatic Cholesterol Results

November 13, 2006 -- Isis Pharmaceuticals announced that an antisense drug candidate produced a dramatic reduction in cholesterol levels, either dosed by itself or along with a statin. Isis 301012, which blocks production of the intermediate cholesterol molecule ApoB-100, reduced LDL (bad) cholesterol as much as 62%. The data came from a Phase II test of the drug.
