GERMANTOWN, Md., Aug. 20, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Intrexon Corporation (NYSE: XON), a leader in synthetic biology, announced today it has commenced an underwritten public offering of shares of its common stock. Intrexon intends to grant the underwriters a 30-day option to purchase up to an additional 15% of the shares of the common stock offered in the public offering. All of the shares in the offering will be sold by Intrexon.
JMP Securities LLC is acting as sole book-running manager and Stifel is acting as lead manager for the offering. The offering is subject to market and other conditions and there can be no assurances as to whether or when the offering may be completed, or as to the actual size or terms of the offering.
Intrexon intends to use the net proceeds from this offering for general corporate purposes as well as for strategic acquisitions or investments.
