YUCAIPA, Calif., Oct. 16 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Ingen Technologies, Inc. , a medical device manufacturer, announced today that OxyAlert(TM) is with the Food & Drug Administration and is expected to receive an “Exempt” status from the 510(k) filing in 60 days.
“After several months of evaluation, the Company is expected to receive an exemption from acquiring the 510(k) FDA requirement for OxyAlert(TM). This allows OxyAlert(TM) to be immediately marketed through our exclusive distributor, Invacare Supply Group, Inc.,” said Thomas Neavit, CFO.
In August of 2007, the Invacare Supply Group, a Massachusetts corporation, formalized a master distributor agreement with Ingen to exclusively distribute its innovative new oxygen flow meter, Oxyview(TM) for a term of up to 3 years. The territory includes North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Australia and New Zealand.
Invacare Supply Group and its parent company, Invacare Corporation , introduced Oxyview(TM) at the MedTrade Convention in Orlando, Florida on October 4, 2007. According to the Director of Sales for Invacare Supply Group, Gary Tobey, Oxyview was a success.
OxyAlert(TM) is a new medical technology that uses wireless communication to send information related to the status of an oxygen delivery system to a remote receiver. Using a special microchip referred to as ZigBy, OxyAlert(TM) complies with the medical standards for wireless communication, and at the same time provides patients and caregivers the ability to distance themselves from the oxygen delivery system and still monitor the amount of oxygen being delivered.
