IBC Life Sciences Expands Its Conference Portfolio to Include Preclinical Scale Bioprocessing

WESTBOROUGH, MA--(Marketwire - September 15, 2009) - IBC’s sixth annual Early Development Forum: Preclinical Scale Bioprocessing is to take place on November 2-4, 2009 in Boston, Massachusetts at the Hyatt Regency hotel. This event, focusing on early preclinical stage bioprocessing, includes moderated discussion forums, extended case studies, a pre-conference workshop and site tour.

The conference program features two moderated audience discussion forums that will provide companies of all sizes with insights to help guide their development programs. “Bioprocess in an Environment of Significant Time Pressures and Resource Constraints” will address common problems arising from the production pressures of R&D and early development. The second forum, “The Timing of Assay Development; Chicken or the Egg? How to Resolve Early Analytical Needs with Low Quality or Scarce Materials” will discuss the ongoing problem of how to proceed with analytical development before reference material is either ready or of sufficient quality.

The conference program also features three extended case studies from Eli Lilly, Genentech and Schering Plough, which will share their progress on strategies for long term development projects including pilot plant continuous improvement, scale up programs and using preclinical production data to inform the mapping of design space.

In addition, a pre-conference workshop will take place on Monday, November 2nd entitled “Optimizing Production and Analytical Support for Research and Early Development.” This morning workshop includes strategies for optimizing the production and analytical support needed for successful early development programs.

Plus, just added to the program: Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a site tour to Lonza’s Hopkinton, Massachusetts facility on the afternoon of Wednesday, November 4th.
