LOS ANGELES, Dec. 4, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Hooper, Lundy & Bookman is pleased to announce that Andrew Struve has joined the firm’s Litigation Department as a partner in its San Diego and Los Angeles offices. He joins from Brown Rudnick, where he was Chair of the US Health Practice, and was previously the Co-Chair of Health Care Litigation at Manatt, Phelps & Phillips.
Struve is one of the most prominent and experienced senior litigators serving the health care industry today and has more than 20 years of health care experience in complex commercial litigation, unfair competition actions, and regulatory compliance. He focuses on mid-cap companies held by health care private equity funds.
He has litigated class actions, federal and state qui tam litigation, antitrust, RICO actions, managed care contracting suits, intellectual property disputes, earnout disputes, bad faith claims, and payment disputes, and has conducted numerous trials, internal investigations, and compliance audits. In addition to leading litigation teams in health care disputes, he serves as national governance, regulatory, and compliance counsel for several large companies. Andrew is well known for arguing Alvarado v. Sun Healthcare et al., a first-impression decision dismissing an Unfair Competition Law action against nursing homes for alleged violations of statutory nurse hours staffing requirements.
