An unusual item left at a Bertucci’s restaurant in Beverly that led to an evacuation Monday turned out to be a medical device accidentally left behind by a patron.
Police and the bomb squad were called to the restaurant on Enon Street around 4:45 p.m. after the device was found. They secured the restaurant and evacuated surrounding businesses. Police said the item was a nylon bag with wires and appeared to be a “hoax device.”
