In 2005, HTS laboratories continue to take on more responsibility in drug discovery, with some expanding into target identification and validation, as well as in vitro ADME/Tox and lead optimization areas. To increase drug discovery success, HTS laboratories are beginning to use high content screening as well, and almost all HTS laboratories conduct secondary screening in addition to primary screening.
