Helping Sick Kids Breathe Easier, Thorasys Medical Systems Reveals

If you’ve ever taken a small child to the doctor, you know it’s not helpful that so many medical devices look so scary. That insight helped guide the development of the tremoFlo oscillation spirometer, which assesses lung function. Created by Thorasys Medical Systems of Halifax, the tremoFlo is a respiratory medical device that also looks pretty friendly. Geoff Maksym, an associate professor at the Dalhousie University School of Biomedical Engineering, is the company’s chief scientific adviser and was a member of the team that developed the new equipment.
