Correx Inc., a surgical device developer in Waltham, bumped up a previously announced funding round, taking in about $3.3 million of a planned $4 million financing, the company indicated in a regulatory filing. Its earlier financing rounded up $2.8 million in February. Founded in 2004, Correx makes a device designed to help surgeons access the heart during aortic valve bypass. The device, called the Correx AVB 18MM Kit, avoids the need for open heart surgery by using a small cut between the ribs as the access point for the heart, attaching a prosthetic valve between the left ventricle of the heart and the aorta.
