Harvard Apparatus New Product Release: Tail Flick Meter for Evaluating Thermal Analgesia

Harvard Apparatus has introduced the Tail Flick Analgesia Meter for studying the analgesic properties of pharmacological substances in rats or mice.

The system supplies radiant heat on the animal’s tail and measures the duration to a response – the tail flick.

This Analgesia Meter achieves optimal detection of the tail flick by ensuring correct placement of the animal’s tail and perfectly aligning the heat stimulus and the photo-beam trigger.

Start/Stop is controlled either from the front panel or footswitch, and the automatic safety shut-off makes this a simple, user-friendly system.

The Analgesia Meter is supplied with SeDaCom Software for automatically recording results on a PC.
