Global Healthcare Exchange (GHX) is presenting on key opportunities for supply chain leaders to deliver added efficiency and effectiveness to healthcare. Attendees of the AHRMM18 Conference and Exhibition, August 12-15, in Chicago, will have the opportunity to learn from GHX on four key topics: using supply chain to manage population health; value-based decision making through data integrity utilizing UDI; supply chain’s role in helping to deliver the organization’s strategic financial and operational goals; and practical ways to improve supply chain automation and drive contract compliance.

AHRMM18 attendees are also invited to GHX booth 551 focused on transforming the healthcare supply chain for increased efficiency, lower costs and, ultimately, better patient care.

“One of the important ways that GHX is helping to support the industry is its leadership and participating in AHRMM’s Cost-Quality-Outcomes (CQO) Movement,” said Karen Conway, vice president, Healthcare Value at GHX, immediate past Chair of AHRMM and the current Cost-Quality-Outcomes (CQO) Summit Task Force Chair. The 2018 CQO Summit Report on the Clinically Integrated Supply Chain will be released on Monday, August 13 at 10:00 a.m. CT.

The two Learning Lab sessions GHX will present include:

Managing Population Health: A Supply and Demand Challenge
Tuesday, August 14, from 1:00–2:00 p.m. CT
Presenter: Karen Conway
Population health management has more to do with the social determinants of health than clinical care. Increasingly, healthcare systems must work with community organizations to develop and implement programs to meet those needs. Conway will outline the skills required to inventory needs (demand), identify available resources (supply), and contract for and deliver those products and services in an efficient and affordable manner.

UDI: Finding Value in the Real World
Wednesday, August 15, 8:00–9:00 a.m. CT
Presenter: Karen Conway
Moving from volume to value-based healthcare requires better understanding of what impacts both the cost and quality of patient care, including the selection and use of supplies. Current regulatory activity is designed to provide more data on the performance of medical devices in routine clinical practice, which can be used to inform better purchasing decisions, improve patient safety and reduce variation that negatively impacts clinical and financial performance. Accessing and analyzing this data requires hospitals to change how they help ensure the integrity of product data across their own organizations and the entire medical device lifecycle from manufacturer through to patients.

Additionally, GHX is presenting at two Strategic Sourcing Track sessions in the Learning Pavilion:

Free Your Teams to Focus on Strategic Activities
Monday, August 13, 4:30–5:00 p.m. CT
Presenter: David Mervish, Senior Solution Specialist, GHX
Supply chain teams are continually asked to do more with less. Learn how you can utilize GHX expertise to manage order acknowledgements and contract exceptions, allowing more time to focus on additional strategic activities and initiatives.

Supply Chain’s Role in AP Automation
Tuesday, August 14, 9:15–9:45 a.m. CT
Presenter: Matt Houston, Vice President, Product Management, GHX
Timely and efficient processing of invoices and payments ranks among healthcare’s largest pains. Combining focus on both delivers a powerful solution to drive your strategic financial and operational goals. Learn how to complete the procure-to-pay process with less paper and more rebate opportunities to drive significant cost savings.
