BOSTON, /PRNewswire/ -- Garden Remedies, Inc., Massachusetts' only cannabis company founded and led by a woman physician, confirms a significant expansion of its business in 2018. The company was granted multiple new special permits for cannabis sales in Marlborough, Newton, Melrose and Fitchburg. These permits together will allow Garden Remedies (GRI) to expand its mission to help thousands more people by providing access to safe, legal and natural cannabis products. 2018 Special Permit approvals for Garden Remedies in Massachusetts include: - In Newton (697 Washington Street), GRI's new Special Permit will allow for adult use cannabis sales to be co-located with its medical marijuana dispensary (operating since 2016). - In Melrose (732 Newburyport Turnpike), GRI obtained approval and opened a medical marijuana dispensary; the firm is now pursuing a permit for adult use sales in the same location. - In Marlborough (416 Boston Post Road), GRI obtained a Special Permit for both medical and adult cannabis use sales. The new location, which has also received its Provisional Certificate of Registration, is under construction and will be the town's first marijuana dispensary when it opens in early 2019. - In Fitchburg, GRI earned two provisional licenses for adult use marijuana from the Cannabis Control Commission (CCC). These licenses include a cultivation license and a product manufacturing license to create product in Fitchburg, adding to GRI's existing Registered Marijuana Dispensary/medical license from the Department of Public Health (DPH) to cultivate and manufacture medical marijuana. Garden Remedies was founded in 2013 and currently operates medical marijuana dispensaries in Newton and Melrose; a cultivation facility in Fitchburg; and a home delivery service available to Massachusetts medical marijuana card-holders in six counties including Bristol, Plymouth, Essex, Worcester, Middlesex and Norfolk counties. The Marlborough dispensary is under construction and is expected to open in early 2019. "Opening for adult use sales will be a key milestone for us, and these Special Permits are an important step in that direction. We're excited that we'll soon be able to offer safe, legal and natural cannabis to all those in need," said Karen Munkacy, M.D., Founder, President and CEO, Garden Remedies, Inc. "Taking marijuana off the streets and safely into the hands of those who need it has long been my life's mission. We look forward to continuing this mission as we seek final approvals from the Cannabis Control Commission." About Garden Remedies (GardenRemedies.com) Connect in Social Media: Media Contact:
