FUJIFILM Medical Systems USA, Inc. Receives FDA Approval for Unity SpeedSuite(TM)

STAMFORD, Conn., Feb. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Fujifilm Medical Systems USA, Inc. is pleased to announce the FDA 510(k) clearance of its newest Fuji DR (FDR) system, the Unity SpeedSuite(TM). The Unity SpeedSuite is a cost effective and innovative DR system that can perform a variety of exams with only one detector. It provides both maximum clinical flexibility and productivity from a single DR detector system with Fujifilm’s renowned image quality. Deliveries of Unity SpeedSuite are expected to begin as early as March.

“The Unity SpeedSuite provides facilities with FDR’s totally automated digital x-ray, along with the added benefit of a flexible, user-friendly design,” said Kevin Oakley, Fujifilm’s National Marketing Manager Digital X-ray. “Unity SpeedSuite bridges the gap for facilities that want the speed and image quality of Fuji DR but lack the physical space for a dual-detector system. With this newest addition to our comprehensive DR product line, we expect to expand Fujifilm’s DR market share in the U.S.”

The Unity SpeedSuite provides three distinct benefits to facilities that together deliver an unrivaled value: speed to maximize patient throughput, sophisticated image processing for uncompromised image quality, and the lowest cost of ownership over time.

Speed

Image display begins in just two seconds, with a fully processed image displayed in 7-9 seconds. And with single-button auto positioning and technique settings, exam set-up is quick and easy. Fujifilm’s intuitive Flash IIP technologist workstation offers easy three-step processing and a common interface for Fuji CR and DR users.

Image Quality

Fujifilm’s advanced image processing capabilities have been enhanced and refined over more than 25 years, so this wide experience in optimizing digital x-ray images for display results in users clearly benefiting from these sophisticated tools. And with Fujifilm’s newest HSP (Harmonized Soft Copy) display parameters, images are presented to further enhance soft copy visualization when displayed at any PACS workstation, for the highest diagnostic confidence.

Lowest Cost of Ownership

Unity SpeedSuite features Fujifilm’s patented HD LineScan technology for outstanding reliability along with a minimum 3 year warranty. This ensures that all FDR systems provide users with a predictable low cost of ownership that is unmatched in the industry.

Unity SpeedSuite performs a wide range of general radiographic exams, including both table-based and upright procedures. Fully motorized, the system can be easily positioned and controlled to do most any exam from chest to extremities, and is ideal for most any clinical area including general radiography, emergency departments, and dedicated chest rooms or outpatient care facilities, such as an orthopedic surgeon’s office.

The Unity SpeedSuite includes a wireless handheld remote for the technologist’s convenience, and site-customizable settings so facilities can program the exams that they perform most. It requires a smaller footprint than traditional DR systems, providing a flexible option for space-constrained rooms. Unity SpeedSuite also includes SpeedLink X-ray Control Software(TM), an intelligent interface between the Flash IIP workstation and the x-ray generator. By automatically setting all exposure settings for each exam according to Fujifilm’s anatomical menu parameters, SpeedLink eliminates workflow steps and saves time.
