Frost & Sullivan Names Palladium Energy “2012 Entrepreneurial Company of the Year”

December 11, 2012 (CHICAGO) – Palladium Energy, Inc. (Palladium), a leading manufacturer of custom lithium-based battery packs, battery chargers and power supplies, announced today that it has received Frost & Sullivan’s prestigious “2012 North American Entrepreneurial Company of the Year” award in the lithium-ion battery market. The accolade comes just weeks after Palladium announced the acquisition of MicroSun Technologies, LLC, becoming the largest independent battery pack integrator in the Americas and Europe.

As a leading global research organization with a 50-year history of monitoring and analyzing more than 300 industries, Frost & Sullivan selected Palladium due to the battery pack manufacturer’s growth strategy and implementation excellence, product and technology innovation, leadership in customer value and speed of response to market needs.

Specifically, Frost & Sullivan’s research revealed that some of the world’s largest original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) trust Palladium to procure the right technology based on custom specifications. Moreover, 90 percent of the time, Palladium re-engineers battery pack specifications to increase safety, reliability and performance. Palladium is also home to the industry’s only independent CTIA-authorized testing and qualification facility, IQ Laboratories. Combined, these assets have enabled Palladium to manufacture more than 550 million battery packs over 38 years without a major recall, and obtain leadership positions in markets such as medical, military, industrial, commercial and consumer electronics.

“Unlike low-cost manufacturers that may sacrifice performance or safety to achieve the lowest possible cost, Palladium adds value to a customer’s product by designing battery packs that achieve a perfect balance between specific energy, specific power, safety, life span, and cost,” said Vishal Sapru, research manager and growth consultant, energy and power systems at Frost & Sullivan. “Our ‘Entrepreneurial Company of the Year’ award is selected using analyst research and a stringent methodology. We’re proud to designate this year’s award to Palladium for delivering excellence and best practices in the lithium-ion battery market.”

“We sincerely appreciate the recognition Frost & Sullivan has given our company as a strategic, innovative partner in the marketplace,” said John Gatti, president and chief executive officer of Palladium Energy. “At Palladium, we’re dedicated to leading the industry and challenging what’s possible when it comes to world-class innovative custom power solutions. Our recent acquisition of MicroSun Technologies is an example of this commitment, and this prestigious award affirms our past success and future positioning.”
