A small roof fire at a building at Merck & Co. Inc.’s West Point plant Sunday afternoon forced an evacuation but caused no injuries, according to Colleen Lange, a Merck spokesperson. She said the cause of the fire remains under investigation. Merck’s fire brigade responded to the incident at 770 Sumneytown Pike at 12:40 p.m., and had it contained by 1:10 p.m., according to Lange. She said members of the Montgomery County Fire Marshal’s Office remained on the scene for another two hours.
