Facet Solutions has developed the Anatomic Facet Replacement System (AFRS(TM)), the first anatomic facet arthroplasty device designed to provide lumbar spinal stenosis and facet degeneration patients with a motion preserving alternative to fusion. Currently, the company is involved in an FDA Investigational Device Exemption (IDE) study of its facet arthroplasty system.
"This latest patent further expands our dominant intellectual property position in facet arthroplasty, and it further enforces Facet Solutions' position as a leader in spine motion preservation technology," stated Alan Chervitz, President and CEO of Facet Solutions, Inc. "We continue our commitment to building a strong portfolio of intellectual property which is focused on improving the outcome and surgical options for patients with back and leg pain. This new patent coupled with the unobstructed access to the disc created in our AFRS procedure opens up exciting opportunities for posterior repair and replacement of the disc and facet joints in a single surgical procedure."
*Note: AFRS(TM) is an investigational device in the United States. It is limited by United States (U.S.) Federal Law for investigational use only.
