INDIANAPOLIS, Sept. 22 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Eli Lilly and Company today announced that David Ricks, currently general manager of Lilly China, has been promoted to president, Lilly USA, LLC. Ricks will succeed Enrique Conterno, who was named leader of Lilly’s new Diabetes Business Unit as part of a company reorganization announced Sept. 14.
Ricks, a 13-year Lilly veteran, worked in the U.S. affiliate for several years from 1998 to 2002 as a marketing manager and then as a district sales manager. Most recently, he served as general manager of Lilly Canada from 2005 to 2008, and as general manager of China since July 2008. Ricks received a marketing and finance MBA from Indiana University in 1996. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in business management from Purdue University that he received in 1990.
Ricks will report directly to Carmine, and will assume his new role beginning November 1. Eric Baclet, currently vice president of marketing over global neuroscience brands, will succeed Ricks to lead Lilly China.
