Raleigh specialty pharmaceutical company Dara Biosciences filed notice to sell additional shares, with a proposed maximum sale of $32.5 million. In the preliminary filing, Dara (Nasdaq: DARA) reported it wants to sell about 8 million shares based on an assumed per unit price of $2.48, which was the closing price on April 16. The larger $32 million figure is reported as a way to calculate a registration fee with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
