ROSEVILLE, Calif., Jan. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- CoolTouch Inc., a pioneering manufacturer of medical lasers, announced today that the United States Patent & Trademark Office has recently issued two patents which have been assigned to CoolTouch Inc. These are patent No. 7,094,252 titled " Enhanced Non-Invasive Collagen Remodeling” and patent No. 7,122,029 titled " Thermal Quenching of Tissue.” The ‘029 patent covers the method of treating skin disorders with non-ablative energy which results in temporary redness. This redness or erythema is the visible indication of the body’s wound healing response that is key to many skin rejuvenation technologies. The ‘252 patent covers the method and system of combining a wound healing compound with a source of electromagnetic energy to produce an enhanced rejuvenation effect. This laser/cream combination therapy is expected to become a preferred method of treatment in the future as physicians look for ways to enhance the effects of non-ablative technologies.
“These two new patents add to CoolTouch’s growing intellectual property portfolio, an important part of business development in the medical industry and a driving force behind new product strategy,” states CoolTouch CEO Dave Hennings.
In addition to the new patents, CoolTouch recently received FDA clearance to market the CTEV 1320 nm laser system for the treatment of superficial incompetent tributary veins associated with varicose veins and varicosities. The CTEV is the only endovenous laser to be shown to be safe and effective for the treatment of tributary veins.
