TORRANCE, Calif., Nov. 15, 2016 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- What started out as a platform for Convaid users to meet and share their experiences with newly diagnosed families has grown into a network of caring families who share information and support online through Convaid’s social media portals and at events. The Convaid Ambassador Program is now rapidly approaching its third year.

Effective immediately, current Convaid users are invited to submit their applications to join the 2017 class of ambassadors who are willing to share insights and experiences with the community at gatherings addressing issues concerning families living with special needs.
What is a Convaid Ambassador?
Convaid Ambassadors are volunteers who share insights and experiences with the greater Convaid community online, at school functions, at Convaid dealer events, in support groups, at Abilities Expo or other special needs gatherings. Each Ambassador family brings its own style and energy to educate and inform others about their choices in pediatric equipment. The deadline to accept new ambassador applications is midnight on December 31, 2016. Prospective 2017 applicants are urged to complete the form associated with this link for consideration.
What kind of assignments will Convaid Ambassadors complete?
- Attend some regional events
- Make a special appearance with Convaid at a local Abilities Expo
- Write blog posts, submit videos, suggest articles
- Share pictorials of the places they visit in their Convaid
- Engage with Convaid’s online community
- Fulfill special assignments as time and interest permit
What kind of time commitment is required? Ambassadors will serve a one-year term. At the end of their term, Ambassadors may elect to continue on as Convaid Ambassador Emeritus where they will mentor new Ambassadors and continue to engage with the Convaid community. Once 2017 Ambassadors are appointed, Convaid’s Marketing Department will debrief each new Ambassador and then follow up with an interactive webinar early in the year. Thereafter, Convaid’s Marketing Department will interface with Ambassadors on an ongoing basis and will host a quarterly success webinar for all Ambassadors.
Many Convaid Ambassadors are strong advocates within their primary diagnoses sectors. For example, Alexis Snyder, author of the acclaimed blog series on Invisible Disabilities, is a first generation Convaid Ambassador alongside her teenage advocate daughter, a long time EZ Rider user. The mother-daughter team champion causes surrounding mitochondrial disease.
Also staying on as Ambassadors Emeritus are the Cech Family and their son, Mighty Matt, a Convaid Cruiser enthusiast, and, Ashley Cervara, whose daughter Sammy uses a Convaid Cruiser. “Our engagement as Convaid Ambassadors has been a great opportunity for us. We have met so many helpful people along the way and it has given us so many opportunities to help inform other families living within the Autism spectrum,” said Ashley.
