SAN DIEGO, Dec. 3, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- CareFusion (NYSE: CFN), a leading, global medical device company, today announced the launch of SentrySuite, a new set of software applications that improve the quality of patient data and increase clinician productivity and efficiency in pulmonary and cardiopulmonary diagnostic settings.

The software focuses on data, organization, workflow and connectivity so physicians can focus more time on patient care. This runs on the CareFusion Jaeger® and SensorMedics® diagnostic devices.
“Over the past several years, we have worked closely with our global customer base through focus groups, user preference and usability testing to ensure we created a solid foundation for our current and future respiratory diagnostic product portfolio,” said Tony Lopez, general manager and senior vice president of Respiratory at CareFusion. “Based on customer feedback, our SentrySuite software is backwards-compatible with existing databases for Jaeger and SensorMedics pulmonary and cardiopulmonary diagnostics devices, allowing clinicians to transfer historical patient records to the new platform and complete patient data comparisons and trend analysis both of which are essential for assessing and developing the best patient treatments possible.”
Access to the database is provided through a local area network or the Internet, which allows the physician to easily retrieve patients’ records.
CareFusion has the largest installed base of pulmonary and cardiopulmonary diagnostic equipment, and SentrySuite enables customers to budget for a phased transition to the new software and hardware environments, while at the same time updating and extending their laboratories with new solutions.
In addition to diagnostic capabilities, the SentrySuite platform offers many additional benefits, including unlimited user access and user preference entry screens, animated operator coaching and guidance in real time during testing, disease classification and one single diagram that captures the quality of the diagnostics measurement performed on the patient. SentrySuite’s capabilities will expand over time with a wide variety of diagnostic applications.
SentrySuite is currently available in the United States, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the UK, Australia and New Zealand.
CareFusion will feature the new SentrySuite software platform, along with other respiratory technologies, at the 56th American Association of Respiratory Care (AARC) International Respiratory Congress Dec. 6 - 9 in Las Vegas in booth #417. In addition to the booth, the CareFusion Mobile Experience, an 18-wheeler truck showcasing how CareFusion helps improve patient safety through their products and services, will be parked in the Las Vegas Convention Center and available for scheduled tours.
Also at the AARC Congress, CareFusion will be presented with the AARC Zenith Award for the sixth consecutive year. CareFusion is one of five companies to win the award in a field of hundreds of eligible organizations. The award, AARC’s top industry recognition award, is presented to companies selected by the organization’s 49,000 members based upon the quality of equipment and/or supplies, accessibility, and helpfulness of sales personnel, responsiveness, service record, truth in advertising and support of the respiratory care industry.
