BSD Medical Reports German Radiation Oncology Society 2012 Deep Hyperthermia Treatment Guidelines Support BSD-2000 Technology

SALT LAKE CITY--(BUSINESS WIRE)--BSD Medical Corporation (NASDAQ: BSDM) today announced that the German Society of Radiation Oncology (DEGRO) has published quality assurance guidelines for deep hyperthermia that support the advanced phased array technology utilized in the BSD-2000 Hyperthermia System. The press release from DEGRO states that the addition of hyperthermia to standard radiotherapy and/or chemotherapy improves the outcome for patients with high risk sarcomas, breast cancer recurrence, superficial tumors, head and neck cancer, cervical cancer, pancreatic cancer, bladder cancer, and rectal cancer. The press release explains that DEGRO is issuing quality assurance guidelines for deep hyperthermia equipment that have been agreed on by a consortium of treatment centers and that the guidelines are expected to improve the delivery of deep hyperthermia.
