Germany-based family owned pharma giant Boehringer Ingelheim (BI), will consider buying Pfizer's animal health business, provided the company sells it in parts, Engelbert Tjeenk Willink, member, board of directors, BI, told ET. "It depends on for what geography and what exact portfolio they (Pfizer) put it on the market. But If there is in general, whether animal health or consumer health care, if there is a section of business that we can acquire we are interested." said Willink. He didn't say whether the company had bid for acquiring Pfizer's animal health business. In July last year, the world's second biggest pharma company, Pfizer had announced a spin off of its animal health and nutrition business. Companies like Novartis and Bayer are in the fray to buy this part of the business.
