In his position, Mr. Saig will concentrate on gaining OTC distribution with major retailers to promote Blaine Mag-Ox 400(R), the #1 doctor recommended magnesium supplement on the market. Michael will be instrumental in evaluating and adding innovative over-the-counter products to complement the existing Blaine product portfolio.
Mr. Saig has worked in the Consumer Packaged Goods industry for over 14 years. Previously, he worked as a National Account Manager for Omron Healthcare, the worldwide leader of blood pressure monitors, thermometry, weight management, and respiratory products. At Omron, Michael dealt with several of the top chain retailers in the Food, Drug and Mass channel and was part of an outstanding sales force capable of responding to rapid growth, expansion of existing product categories, and new product initiatives. At Blaine, he has similar plans in order to expand the existing product category and new product initiatives. Prior to Omron, Michael worked with Roche Diagnostics, a worldwide leader in diabetes management.
Blaine has already gained over-the-counter distribution in over 28,000 locations, including Walgreens, CVS, Rite Aid, Kroger, Brooks/Eckerd, Albertson’s and other fine retailers. This move represents one of the first steps in a bold, new sales and marketing strategy for the company -- which had traditionally marketed the supplement directly to physicians and pharmacists -- and for the product, which had previously been sold behind the counter, even though no prescription was required.
